I am moving stables soon, but the new stable has a tiny tack room, so no room for hanging wet rugs. The stable block has no overhang at the front, so they cant hang outside and I think my horse will chew them if I put a rug rack in his stable.

Has anyone got any rug drying/storage ideas?!

My OH will not be amused if I bring them home to dry, so that rules that out too... but he is willing to help me with DIY, to make some sort of storage unit, so if anyone has got any space saving design ideas for waterproof hanging storage for a couple of 7ft rugs, let me know!

I usually leave wet rug on horse overnight (as long as there are no fastenings that can catch on anything - mine have velcro neck fastenings) they are bone dry in the morning x

try a 'maiden' used to use in kitchens to dry stuff. they fit to ceiling and have a rope pulley

These are great! Don't use one at the stables but have one at home, it goes into the conservatory roof. You hardly notice it any can fit loads on it, and the cloths dry really quickly. Remember heat rises!

just dont use one for drying clothes in the kitchen lol my friend came out one night stinking of chips and sausages!!!

Good ideas - the roof is not very high (and my horse is 17.1 and nosey!), but the maiden idea could work at the back where the roof is highest as long as I dont leave straps hanging down....

Wont cost much to construct either - even better!

Thanks!
