I find rugs so difficult to buy!
I’m looking to treat myself and my horse to a rug system. My horse is narrow-ish through the shoulder so I find a lot of rugs hang too low there. I just bought the weatherbeeta comfitec which fit nicely around his shoulder but was too short, I’m worried if I order the next size up it will hang too low on his shoulder. On previous rugs I have darted the necks but I was hoping to avoid that this time and just get a rug that fits!

any suggestions from those with narrow horses? He’s an Arab but built very petite

Our very narrow Welsh A fits fine in Weatherbeeta even if a little large (he’s between sizes). He also fits Horseware rugs. I used those two makes on my TB (also narrow) and they worked well for her. If really unsure maybe pick up a rug in the next size up second hand for a few ££ on FB marketplace and try it?

I used to have a slender TB, horseware rugs always fitted him the best(including all the liner system rugs) Bucas fit him nicely as well.

Which Weatherbeeta rug did you buy? They are all ComFiTec, but for narrow shoulders I recommend the Plus Dynamic. (Ex WB account manager here). Sizing up won’t make it hang off his shoulders.

That’s good to know as I’ve just returned the 5’9 and upgraded to the dynamic plus in a 6ft. Thanks for your help

I’d try the Horseware Wug styles as I found using liners and rug on top created more pressure on the wither and the binding of the liner and rug together rubbed badly.
