Please can anyone tell me how much they usually pay to have a rug washed?

I have many grubby rugs and our washing machine isn't suitable to handle them. :) I look at the website for Grubby Rugs but there is no price list (at least not one that I can find).

Many thanks!

It depends whether they are indoor/outdoor and also what weight and whether they have a full neck. The last time I took a rug to be washed it was lightweight TO and it cost 11pound just for the wash which I thought was extortionate so since then ive always washed my rugs myself by hosing them off then sprinkling on some washing powder and hosing it off. I roll them up and step on it all the way along to get all the water out and then hang them up to dry! Although obviously this is easier in the summer.

£12 for wash and £17 for wash and proof. Had a pretty hefty bill this year when they went in for washing!

Worth it though, its the only way they get cleaned properly and if im going to spend good money on buying the rugs then I need to maintain them!

Does depend on where you are. In Surrey the prices are quite a lot higher. You can pay up to £30 for a wash and re-proof on a heavy weight winter turn out. A fleece or light weight without re-proof is about £8.

If you can you are much better off doing the washing yourself - but it is harder to do in the winter.
