I have just got a sweet Welsh cob.

He has just been full clipped and lives out.

I'm down south so day temp is about 13 degrees and mid to high single figures overnight.

What weight rug would you be using?

It does depend on the horse and things like how exposed the fields are, etc. Mine are fully clipped and currently are in no fill rain sheets just to keep them clean. They are out during the day and in at night - also in the South.

Zero or 50 unless he’s a horse who feels the cold then I would make a judgement .

my welshie is clipped out, similar temps at the moment. she's quite a warm person, and is currently wearing a sheet in the stable and a 0g turnout. When it was colder a couple of weeks ago she had a 100g on. it needs to be quite a lot colder before she needs a thicker rug.

Depends on the wind chill. Welsh are native and pretty hardy. I always use a clipped horse needs 100g fill to compensate for no coat, so I would recommend at least 100g fill. However, if temp 13 degrees plus, a no fill or 50g is fine.
