How much is 1000Denier in Grams?

I thought Denier was to do with the weave of the fabric the denser the better as in 1600 for a really waterproof winter rug and 600 for a light summer turnout sheet. With grms being the weight of the filling

Yup, I agree with Selkie, that's my understanding. For a very good HW rug, I thing my Rambo is 420g with 1000 dernier ripstop outer

Oh isee thanks and sorry. As just seen a really nice rug Rambo rug but doesn't say how heavy just said 1000D!! x

Yup the denier is the outer fabric (like tights - the higher the number the tougher they are!!)

Denier is the strength of the outer fabric of the rug - ie a 1200D is stronger than less likely to rip than a 600D rug.

The fill is what you need to ascertain the warmth/weight of the rub and this is what is measured in grams.
