Should this be worn on a double bridle? Or can it be ridden on a normal snaffle bridle with 2 reins? Just getting told different things so curious as to which is 'correct'?

Yes, double bridle is correct. The 'snaffle' ring should be supported, hence a sliphead is needed.

Should have a double headpiece, but you can buy an extra headpiece (can't remember what they are called and put it on your snaffle bridle. You need two sets of reins and a curb chain and lipstrap too.

you can use a snaffle bridle + a slip head or a double bridle...... but you NEED that second strap.

as lucy said and put the buckle to the sliphead on the right - so there's not a clutter of buckles on the left of the face.
