Toto has a hunter clip and is a connie x , he's out all day till 4.00 pm ridden daily and stabled at night , gets couple of handfulls of Alfa A Lite with carrots and multi vits and is looking well , is he ok with medium weight rug on during the day ( no neck) or would you put a heavy weight (with neck) on yet or shall I wait till it gets colder?? he wears a heavy stable rug at night tho

If he's warm enough - then leave as is. We havne't really had a cold snap yet. I've really been struggling with my horse - and up until last weekend, despite being blanket clipped, I was still unable to put a rug on him - he was simply getting too hot.

Each is different, and you just have to monitor daily.

Murphy has a trace clip and is in a full neck 180gm, and he's cosy like that.
I often wonder when to upgrade him, but its simply too close in Wales to do it yet, I feel. Murphy sweats when I try to put anything under his rug! As AM has said, just keep an eye on it - you'll soon know when he's chilly!
Wonders if she's ever going to get to put her HW on Murphy!!

If he doesn't feel cold then leave him as he is. If he feels a bit chilly I'd maybe try slipping a fleece or something under it as that wouldn't be as hot as a full neck HW.
