Are any of you putting stable rugs on horses at night yet? Only wondering as it's starting to get chilly in the midlands at night. Would only put fleeces on but mine and my friends horse are getting on now although both very tough and in well sheltered stables xxxx

Yes have had a thin summer sheet on for a week or so and now put a lightweight stable rug on. I am trying to keep the coat down a bit to save clipping for a bit.

Mine is out at night and has a MW rhino wug on and then she is in during the day with a cooler on. She will be getting clipped next week and then will be coming in at night so will have a stable rug on.

No way! Mine is out during the day au naturel and in at night au naturel. He won't have a rug near him until mid October time or when clipped, whichever is the sooner.

Two TBXs in the South-East, living out. At present au naturel as it's warm, but last week I was putting a lightweight turnout on at night and taking it off in the morning. One got a jumping injury and had to be in for 4 days and I put her light waffle-weave rug on at night, but if it was now for instance she would be bare as it's currently warm. They have a coat and less surface area than us so don't need clothing like we do. I wouldn't want to soften them up too much before winter.

No turnout or stable rugs on ours yet. We still on the fly rugs!!!
Ours are out in the day and in at night. Think it will be a few weeks yet, maybe a bit sooner for the old ones.

Im same as above. Although my TB has his Amigo summer turnout on if it is rainy. And another has his sweet itch rug on still!!

Am planning to clip 3 in the next few weeks so rugs will start to go on then but TBH a lot of their rugs are away being cleaned and repaired so I dont even have them right now!

No rugs yet. He's being clipped on tuesday (full clip) so will have a LW on the first night but I'll probably leave it off then for a couple of weeks. Then he'll have a LW on.

I would normally start putting a LW rug on end of sept, early oct.
