Has anyone else ever bought a new rug only to find that the belly straps are too short? I got an amigo for my girl who is on the chunky side but not grossly overweight and the straps were way too short. Do rug makers design for a certain build of horse?

I've got a chunky cob, the only rugs that fit her are weatherbeeta ones, good value and a good range of sizes. The only other make she's got is one pessoa medium weight, expensive but brilliant quality and fits her well. Equestrian clearance do good value weatherbeeta rugs

hi, the masta range of rugs are great for chunkier types. they have a good deep pattern and the tri vent shoulder gusset gives lots of room for the shoulder and chest We have an equestrian shop and have tried and tested manymakes of rugs for our very chunky equines and found these to be the best.

The FAL rugs with extra deep necks are brilliant for larger horses. Expensive but fit well, don't move, don't rub and never leak either.

LeneHorse I wonder if you could get the straps extended either by Horseware or by a local saddler, if the Amigo fits well other than that?
