What rugs do you lovely people have on your Arabs?

I've been using a pink equine high neck TO on baby arab (2.5yo). However with her shape (large round barrel, huge shoulders no withers) the front end fits ok, but the back end slides off to one side!

She's got an amigo LW TO on now with a neck cover. But although I didn't think her neck was that long, the neck covers not actually long enough :O, it's a tad tight in the shoulder department and barely skims her deep barrel.

So rug suggestions? Was considering looking at PE in the sale as I know they're much deeper than many rugs

Thankies ;)

There is a lady who set up an Arab rug company because she was fed up of rugs not fitting her Arab. She has her horse just down the road from me. I don't know what her website is called but it would prob come up if you googled. My girl is in a mark Todd which is Fits ok.

I have a LW Rambo on mine in the stable but I have just noticed that it is rubbing around his chest as his shoulders are monstrous. If I was buying another Rambo I'd buy a bigger size to account for this, I'll have to sell the one I have :(

The mark Todd stable rug fits much better. When funds allow I'll try the special Arab rugs, they are such a funny beautiful shape that it's probably a good investment.

I use the Mark Todd and the Rambo rugs on my two.

The rambo T/O rugs I have to say are 10 years old and still going strong!

Mind you the Mark Todd heavy weight stable rugs are also 10 years old too, and still going strong...

She is wearing a LW amigo at the mo - but it is a bit tight in the shoulders for my liking. She has gone, in 9 months, from wearing a 5'6" that was too big on her to her 5'9" being not big enough!! Lol

Will take a look at the fals - are they a bit deeper cut than the horseware? Her current LW is literally only just covering her belly - you can see belly poking out!!! Lol

Amigo is the cheaper end of the Horseware range and Rambo the top end (with I think Rhino in the middle). My amigo is a bit of a mini skirt on my girl while the same rug size Rhino is down to her knees! So Horseware are good for arabs but maybe try further up the range to get more rug for you money!

Fal are deeper than Amigo and fit mine well. Also weatherbeeta but I don't buy the ones with necks, I've got a feeling the weatherbeeta neck ones would not fit so well as they are cut quite deep in the neck.

Weatherbeeter and shires. Amigo too, but the older ones, not sure about the new ones. Shires are surprisingly good for the money and a great fit on wider types, not mini skirty. I prefer the tail flaps on the wb freestyle ones though.

Interesting! I've avoided weatherbeeta like the plague for years and years as they just never fitted, but I shall look again.

And deffo at the shires - as she is definitely still growing I don't want to spend a fortune on rugs just yet. In a couple if years time I won't mind so much, but as she's likely to outgrow them I'd rather a more economy rug for the moment
(She is stabled over night and comes in if the weather is absolutely hideous so she's not entirely neglected ;) )
