thought i'd posted this earlier but can't see it anywhere.

I have a new pony coming on sunday, 13hh porky cob with a lot of chest. she takes a 5ft rug. I know that amigos suit this type of build but have also seen some bargins by robinsons (requisite) and derby house. Has anyone got these, would they be a suitable fit for this build of pony and does anyone have any other budget suggestions to offer?

I don't know if this helps but I have a 14.1hh welsh cob, she's quite chunky and I wanted a combo and was looking at all sorts then I found a Saxon combo, it was only £50-ish and is perfect as it isn't too heavy

she's porky, yes but i want to rug, because it's how i do things. No she's not clipped. But i want her back to be dry before i put a saddle on it. Personal preference but i like to put a rug on my horses, for convenience and my peace of mind.

I like the idea of cheap, but i don't want a combo, just a standard neck as she has a lovely mane and she will be shown in the summer. And a rug that isn't too heavy sounds perfect but how are the Saxons in terms of being waterproof? Do they last well?

erm i have a chunkster
premier equine are FANTASTIC cant beat them and they're fab on wide ponies (www.premierequineinternational.com) plus they're selling rugs at 1/2 price atm!!
