can someone explain to me the denier of rugs please? i know all about heavyweight and middleweight etc but can someone tell me what classes as a heaveyweight etc etc? for stable rugs as well. sorry if its a stupid question but ive never bought a rug before, just been told by other people what to put on!

No fill = very lightweight sheet.... for keeping dry only

100g = light weight

200g = med weight

300g + = heavy weight

But as previously said if its the 600denier outer for example that you are judging then that is the strength of the outer material and not to do with weight or warmth.

i think denier is the weave of the material.
think of tights.....10 den thin,60 den thick.
a rug with 1200 would be the toughest material.
it`s the closeness of the threads in the weave or summat
