rugs on ebay

I just sold a 2nd hand wool exercise rug that was about 12 years old although in fab condition for £23...... it had been cleaned though!

They do if they are a brand, i.e., fal or rambo. Yes it is better to get them clean first.

I got reasonable money for a wug and coolmasta that were in quite good condition. Others would probably sell for a few pound.

My older tatty/non descript rugs and saddle cloths were well received at the local riding school, rescue centres are always looking for stuff too.

I agree up to a point.

However, some of Amy's rugs were non branded as they were made especially for her. They still fetched very reasonable money. A stable rug and neck cover in particular went for £40 - and they only cost £45 to have made five years earlier.

A lot of the time it's about presentation - if the rug looks good, and your wording is good, then hopefully you'll get a reasonable amount for it. Whatever the brand.

Although granted - all my Ramob rugs went sky high....

I have both bought and sold rugs on ebay. If I sell, I always put it through my Dyson washing machine and reproof if necessary.

I am now wondering if secondhand rugs are such a good idea, having had a strangles scare at the yard, with the possibility of something like that being transmitted on a soiled rug

I have bought a couple of rugs but from close to where I live as I collected because postage was quite high. The rugs had been cleaned and have lasted really well

thanks for all the replies, i'm going to keep to postage low as i know of a courier that will take him for £5.99 which i think is quite good for a rugs.

If they are a good make and i good condition get them proofed and cleaned.

If they are non descript or tatty, don't bother with cleaning them.

Postage is high for rugs, so don't forget to say where you are and that the buyer may pay cash on collection.

There are plenty of people who will buy un branded rugs as they just want something cheap, so they will seel, but not maybe at a great price.
