I've had this problem before, rugs being fine before a clip (yes they do fit btw), but once clipped it's like there on a mission towards the bottom! and it's impossible to re-arrange without stripping them off, a good tug forward just doesn't worki, t's like the coat turns into velcro, not sure my sewing skills go as far as silk lining the whole inside of my stables rugs and taking a risk of buying different stable rugs until a find one that doesn't ride back will be an expensive job, I don't like the thought of any rug being tight round the front of his chest because it's working it's way back from the clipped coat gripping it.

*humph* any suggestions?

i found using a bossys bib under the rug helps to stop them getting pulled back, and you dont get thoses awful rubs on the shoulders.:D:D:D:D

probably have cotton linings which is very grippy? Amigo stable rugs have lovely silky linings....! Come up small on the size though, go a size bigger

hmmm yes maybe the do have cotton linings, is there a special type
under-under rug (silky/lycra) that can be used as a liner to prevent it happening and of course save you from buying more stable rugs?

I'll have a look at the Amigo stable rug, I do like Amigo rugs anyway, thanks Foxy1.

When you clip you have removed quite a depth of coat so rugs don't always continue to fit.

Never pull rugs back - it ruffs the hair up and can be uncomfortable. Try putting a thinner rug under the rug so that it can fit better.

Rub vests are a good idea at any time regardles of how well a cover fits.

On the synthetic ones with neck rugs do the neck rug up as tight as possible near the throat it hen preventss the whole rug sliding back.

Not enough to change the fit of his rugs, he wasn't that hairy, a drop or increase in weight on the other would, probably more to do with the material of the lining, it’s only one of his thinner under rugs that is riding back, trying to save the thicker one for when the weather comes colder, I’ll have to look for something in a different material and a bib to see if that helps.
