rugs ripping

Does anyone know any good ways to repair a couple of small tears in my horses rugs. They will be sent off for usual clean and repair but I feel it is too early to do that at the moment. They are all weatherbeeta's. Just want to keep them from leaking if poss Kx

My lodger patched my rug with some rip stop nylon that she had left over from making a kite. Has worked beautifully and was apparently very easy to sew on her sewing machine.

I use copydex to "glue" the tears
