Ok how many rugs do you lot have for one horse !

i must have 20 now, and i still see rugs that benefit my horse

Help.................... i think its because its getting colder !

step away from the rugs!!

Really, a lightweight rain sheet, a medium fill turnout (ok maybe 2) and a heavyweight, plus max 2 stable rugs of varying weights, a fleece and maybe a cooler should be enough wardrobe for any horse.

In fact in the distant past I can remember getting through winters with a canvas outdoor rug, a jute stable rug and an underblanket for cold nights..and we were competing and/or hunting most weekends

have you seen Kaths post further down???? Poor Corroy!!!!!!!

Bloss has an imense wardrobe.

i spent the weekend listing things id need for my new horse and you should see the amount of different rugs i listed, its ridiculous!!!!!!!

I cant step away !

I know what you mean though ! i used to have a green canvas NZ and a jute rug, and that was it.

There are so many on the market now, why o why do i never spend any money on my self, but i can buy a new rug like jack flash !

People at my yard don't believe me when I say that you could only buy canvas New Zealand rugs and that they only came in green. I'm 34 so not that ancient!

Tell me about it, i dont have 20 but i wouldn't say i am far off and i have only been back in to riding 2 years

I just brought a lightweight t/o rug off of ebay but it wasn't as lightweight as i had hoped so i am keeping that one and will be rug shopping again once i have been paid, can never have too many rugs LOL

I love rugs but im trying to be good, i 7 at the moment for one horse, I would so love a green new zeleand a like you used to get....

the trick is to not even look at rugs...you really, really don't need another one, and some of them are SO expensive, if they would lead the horse in and take themselves off in the eveing I could justify it. The fact is this is layers of material that are destined to all be the colour of mud after the first week

I am in the school though of looking after the ones I own, so some of my rugs are 10 years old or so..faded but still working fine

robinsons do canvas rugs, and jute ones..so you can be a retro saddo and practice triangling the under rug up the neck to fold back and tuck in the roller..on second thoughts just give me a nylon stable rug!

Alot of people kindly gave me rugs when i got him last nov, but as he has grown another hand, now they are a foot off his bottom ! <img src="http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> (is my excuse working)

It only works as long as you sell the ones that are too small.......

You know I found four rugs still in their bags in the tack room - I sneak them in before the OH can see them............................................... wanders off muttering I WILL NOT BUY MORE RUGS, I WILL NOT BUY MORE RUGS, I WILL NOT BUY MORE RUGS

Every year I ditch my rugs or deliberatly damage the crappy ones so mu can buy me nice new ones
grin.gif
I used to do that even when I was paying for them
crazy.gif
I do still use my old mares rugs (a fal pro green stable rug which smells of wee and an ancient Mark Todd lightweight with a tear in the top of the bum) and storms under rug, all rugs this year will be new
laugh.gif
AND Missy needs a barnd new wardrobe because all she has is a lightweight turnout
