entries are going in so i feel it is time for one of these.
rumour has it that red baron (zara phillips) has been sold to Sienna thingymabob, that will be interesting to watch.
also there is the curious case of the disappearing horse. Flying machine was purchased by a ssundicate for harry meade last year and he did pretty well on it. however rumour has it that it was recently removed and taken else where. i hear to a rider in leicestershire but allegedly Jp says it isnt him. very smart horse that so does anyone know?
and of course any other lttle movements between yards anyone has heard of!!

Not sure if anyone has already mentioned this but Harry Meade's ride Birthday Night has gone to Georgie Spencer. Just hope her wrists heal nicely.

that has been mentioned so it sounds like harry hasnt had a nice winter but he has acquired karen hughes who was team hoys head girl for ages so that is a bonus i would say.

i suppose you never know for sure what horses have moved where until the season starts.we all know for certain about hobby but not sure about any of the others.horses move around all the time between riders.it just depends on the circumstances.sometimes these moves are with mutual agreement and are not upsetting to anyone involved.of course other times are not so happy and can cause deep upset and irepairable rifts are formed.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread somewhat, but I was wondering if anyone knows if Mary King has a website - I've tried googling but to no avail! Thanks

And keep coming with the gossip, I'm not an eventer myself but love following it and it's really interesting to hear all the pre-season gossip!

looked at her entries for tweseldown: a couple of her advanced horses are entered in the OI but not red baron... but then again his first run could be aldon or gatcombe

PMSL when I saw title and OP of this thread

The Hobby thing seems to be down to Mary being short of a 4* ride combined with a little disappointment at how 2008 went and a feeling, rightly or wrongly, that the horse didn't look great on a recent visit - all this combined with some "communication issues"

Very sad for A and K but I do defend an owner's right to send their horse to whom they please - they pay the not-inconsiderable bills. I also heard that Harry's mishap was down to a communication oversight - anyone else hear that one? You can be the best rider and the nicest person in the world but you've got to put the owners first and make them feel special haven't you? Hard lesson learnt no doubt...

yes but where has harry's horse gone? Piggy may be? and lots of random novices swopping round as usual but the more experienced are much more interesting.
and to be honest mary isnt short of a fourstar horse unless she has broken imperial cavelier and apache sauce or perhaps she wil be downgrading them!!

And what about Zara's STUNNING (and not cheap

) new Intermediate horse? I was surprised that Millicent didn't write about that in her Eventing column... Apparently going like a dream so that will be exciting to watch - one for Le Lion 7yos 2009? Shame there's no betting as you'd get good odds atm...

spooky. did i mention millicent? she has written about it on her web site hasnt she? and i understand it was the owner of red baron who bought that one so no doubt that is why red baron is going elsewhere.

dont worry about it, there is only one head girl movement worth talking about and that is karen's as already mentioned above. Groom42 obviously thinke we know who she works for but i dont, clearly nor do you and tbh i dont much care either unless they are refering to two 4* horses but i think not.... x

thanks for that i thought for a moment that i was being dim.i know what u mean though movement of lower level horses is very commonplace and not really interesting.i think that when 3 and 4 star horses move its much less common and lets face it there are much fewer of them. i also think that we all form a kind of relationship and admiration for these supurb athletes and so are really interested in their lives a bit like following premiership transfers

TBH I think Groom 42 was just having a bit of lighthearted banter

- I'm sure you will find she was referring to her own (not 4*) horses and that she ends up doing the grooming for her daughter?!
