Really upset and mad. Dont know whether to shout & have a tantrum or cry.

Got to the hospital at 8am as requested. sat there while 10.30 when they checked my pulse, chest, blood etc. Then was told they hadnt heard from the trauma meeting so would let me know asap. About 30 mins later they sent mum home as I was definitely having the op.

So aneasthatist arrives, does all relevant tests then buggers off after having a go at me about having my tongue peirced

. gets ready for theatre and waits. Gorgeous irish trainee doctor arrives

, asks loads more questions, says hell see me soon in theatre

then leaves.
I fall asleep in chair.

430 comes around and still no one has called me to theatre. My next door neighbour had gone to theatre about 130-200 so I assumed by 4 i would be in. O no, dont be silly. At 5.15 the doctor comes round to say they have run out of time

. A registrar cant do the op as it is so intriquet and needs top dog to do it.
So sorry but youre going to have to come in tomorrow morning at 8am and wait like i have done today

. Also no guarantee that ill have the op tomorrow. Just got to pray I do

But best bit is this. On Saturday night at A&E and again on Sunday id been told not to move my finger, it had to be strapped up incase the rest of the bone decided to shatter. Today ive been told ive got to exercise it!!! WTF which would you do??? Problem is I cant move it without lots of pain - me thinks i wont be doing anything with it, as the bloke who told me to move it isnt the bloke whos going to be operating on me!

sorry rant over. Roll on tomorrow morning.

Also forgot to mention. I went to see the doctor at the frature clinic last night. He sai dhe can pretty much guarantee me a straight finger but it may be stiff and have a swollen joint permanently when hes finished. He said he cant guarantee me that I will have full use of the finger either.
So I hope this op is going to be worth all the pain of it being pinned, plated and wired up!
Want to know when I can ride again as ive only got 5 weeks till my first show!

You poor thing. What a shambles our health system is. Big hug to you and I must say that you are coping excellently - you shouldn't have to mind - but you are. I think I would have had a tantrum personally.

its crap isnt it. What gets me is the idiots that go and get drunk or drive on drugs then cause accidents are classed as emergencies. I feel sorry for the poor people who end up getting cuaght up in the accidents but the culprits should be left with no operations or painkillers till theyve waited their turn!

Dont think my manager is too happy with the situation. Just had to tell him the op didnt go ahead and that I wouldnt be in work tomorrow either
