Hi guys,

Just wondered if anyone could let me know the tax cost of a 6tonne (roughly) and also what I should expect to pay for insurance.....9 years no claims, over 32 driver etc etc!

Thanks

Can tell you what it is for a 7.5t???
£180 per year tax and £350 fully comp, 2 drivers over 25 with full breakdown cover.
Dont forget plating, servicing and any repairs too.

3.5 tonner, £180 (i think) for tax, MOT is £50ish, servicing around £150 a year, Insurance inc BREAKDOWN COVER (v important!) around £400 a year.
Don't forget the cost of tyres, which, though you may not do many miles, will perish if left standing for long and do need regular checking/replacing if you don't want a blowout!

For my 3.5 ton lorry around £180 tax a year, about £350 a yr insurance and breakdown (that was when i was under 25 too) then MOT costs, and servicing (£300 roughly?) depending obviously on what needs doing and diesel. Use my box regularly and probably fill it every other month at a guess for using locally. Then of course things like if ramp or floor needs doing, if anything goes wrong with engine etc

Im not the luckiest person but my box was bought with 12 mths plate, the day after it had an air leak in the brakes, cost £140. Has had full service, full oil change and new brakes all round at a cost of £160 (friend of a friend), reverse light mended, new bushes £75 and the new reg mirror £55 plus MOT at £80. Ive barely used it but Im told its fine now by the mechanic. This isnt an old box either.

Good luck, I hope its ok.
Whispers.... mine was checked over too

Was told it could have happened to any wagon though so it was just one of them things.
