Hello everyone :)
I'm going away to Greece from the 1st April till 8th April which means finding someone to take care of ferrets and dog. Ferrets don't really care where they are as long as they get play time, food and shelter so they're off to their 'ferret butlins' where they normally stay and i'm not worried about them at all, i know they're well looked after there and they are obviously happy :)
The trouble is my dog. She is 10 years old, half blind and snaps at other dogs, she also can't be put in kennels as she stop eating and refuses to move out of her bed, the one time she went to kennels i had to cut my holiday short and come back after 3 days as i got a call from kennels telling me dog has not left her bed for 2 days, has refused to eat and growls whenever someone tries to move her or her bed, they have tried giving her all sorts of meats and treats but she won't touch any of it, so i came home and the second she saw me, back to her normal self and weed herself from excitement, gobbled down her food and happily jumped into the car. So kennels i'm afraid is a big no no. So for years i have been managing to find a friend to look after her in their own home, which works well for her. Trouble is, the lady who was supposed to be looking after her in april has gotten very ill and won't be able to look after my dog which of course is out of her control and i don't blame her at all, but now i am stuck with where to put dog! I have asked everyone i can think of and i have got a lot of people involved to help me find someone, no luck unfortunately!
Anyone have any ideas??
We're based in Grantham, Lincs if thats any help :)

I cant recommend any from personal experience but there are various national pet sitters around, the good ones are police checked I believe and insured and will provide a home sitting service for your pet.

Thank you for ideas, I've now found a house sitter that will take care of dog, and she said she's also happy to take care of ferrets so i can leave them all at home and not have to drive around dropping them off and stressing them out. thank you so much :)

It's what I do. I pay a friend to house sit mine. Dog walker comes in daily so dogs have no disruption to their routine in any real sense.

Glad you got it sorted! As l have multiple animals l always get a house sitter as it works out to much more cost effective and you also have the security of someone being in the house...
