Hi All,

Been a very long time lurker but have finally registered.

Any suggestions on this one would be much appreciated, my horses are in separate fields using electric fencing. One of them has decided that it can run through gates, in the past couple of weeks I have gone through around 10 handles. I have taken her rugs off but she just puts up with the pain to get out. Today tried using thicker taping and hung bits on cut up moolichop feed bags to try and scare her a bit, she went straight through that too.

Any suggestions would be fantastic as I can't keep her in all the time.

My boy did this until i got some longer posts that were almost eyelevel and that stopped him- he didnt give a *** pushing through with his chest but not with his face! Also had electric that plugged into the mains and if its wet it zaps much harder!

How many gate handles did you have across, presuming I would have 1 as high as possible, then 1 middle height. I can't do the mains but will recharge the spare battery and get them both on should sting. Stupid mares!!! lol

Well hook up to the mains if you can - we have the gallagher mains fencer - the model below Elephants, but suitable for deer / large livestock (2 up from the horse one!)

None of ours will test it. I'm also tight, so use baler twine loops for handles. You just have to be a bit careful or you get regular shocks

I've put hay in there for her, she has her breakfast out there so she can take longer eating it. There are 4 paddocks all next to each other (she's in a middle one). Once she sees someone arrive in a car on the yard ping!!! she's out.
