Hi.

My retriever has had a runny tummy the last 24hours, it's getting a bit better now and I'm thinking something she ate. I'm quite strict with her diet, and I know she hasn't picked anything up walking because I've been with her. My friend had her for an hour yesterday and have her one of those jumbone pedigree things. Looking at the ingredients they seem to be mostly crap but would this give her the runs?

Sorry for the ramble - trying to work backwards so I know what caused it.

Rice Flour, Glycerin, Sugar, Wheat Flour, Propylene Glycol, Powdered Cellulose, Sodium Caseinate, Natural Poultry Flavor, Calcium Carbonate, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Dried Meat By-Products, Potassium Chloride, Salt

Yuck - that'll be the cause!

Have stopped buying them, tried the smaller version for my chi's. Consequences = not good:) The only thing that doesnt upset their tummies are the basic raw hide bones, and for special treats they do get the pedigree tasty bites which seem ok.

I've never bought them - I make my own treats for her, but unfortunately my friend wasn't to know - apparently it was a really big one too.

I was just made to feel a bit like a neurotic dog owner this morning when I asked her about it because her dogs are always fine with them - I suppose they grow a certain tollerance to them if they are fed them regularly?

Poor little thing is feeling a bit sorry for herself with her squitty bot!

one of these made my dog pretty ill over xmas-he's had them in the past with no issues (not for a couple of years though). I googled and there seems to have been some trouble with them recently. My dog was sick as well as the other end.

Poor thing, she hasn't been sick. How long did it last - is there anything I can give her or just let it flush itself out?

he was fine in about 24 hours, I just did the chicken and rice thing for a couple of days, lots of small meals. He's old and incredibly fussy so I tend to be pleased when he eats anything, even rubbish.
