My dog has recently had very bad poo, very runny over the past day a nd today it has had blood in it, any idea what could be wrong (9yro collie). No changes in his diet (apart from it been cut down)

I have a vet appointment in 40 mins or so but would like it if anyone has any ide from past experiences or anything thanks.

I'd say probably colitis as it sounds like what my old dog had.

They don't get blood in it from that though do they. Has he/she been wormed recently?

My dog had ulcerative colitis which does give them bloody poo, not sure about ordinary colitis. It's an inflammation of the colon so I guess it depends how bad it is.

Thanks for your posts, took him down with a sample the blood was probably caused by straining as his temp wasn't up or anything so wasn't infectious, must have just been something he has eaten as he is on a diet so more inclined to scrownge (sp?)
