We are currently with the NFU but having had a quote for the new house, we are looking to have to pay a fair bit more. Not sure whether being in Wales rather than England has any weight to it. I'd have thought it'd been less expensive, but there you are:o

So who do you all use? And what do you pay against rebuild value?

Thankies :)

We learnt the hard way to cover for rebuild value only, which is not the price of purchase or sale as these include land, rural views /area etc which add to value. You can look up the rebuild costs on internet and insure based on square footage.

Is it just a house or does it include any land/farm type buildings? You could use Farmers Union of Wales (FUW) for a quote.

We were with NFU and renewal looked really expensive so we shopped around. We are now with John Lewis and very pleased with them - also less then half the price!

I am with nfu and must admit they are a bit pricey but I know they are good for this type of property. With other insurers I was never too sure if our outbuildings and stables would be covered.
