Got a 6year old ex racer and shes fine in walk and canter, really responds to half halts.
But in the trot, circling her she rushes and its hard to get her back to a nicer collected trot.
I know obviously she finds it difficult but im struggling to get real work out of her because she wont slow the trot...is there any exercises I can do to help it please?

Hi, I found rising slowly so that the horse's trot has to match your rising helps, it is hard to start with but seemed to work for me, so may be worth a go?!

As soon as she starts to rush the trot come back to walk re establish & ask for trot again, if she rushes bring back to walk, do loads of up & down transitions like this & get her listening to you.
