Rust fungi on grass

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes any way. The pasture that I keep my horses on has developed a rust fungi on the grass. It is in visible patches where the grass has also turned yellow. Does any one else have this problem? Is it harmful to horses? Any info would be much appreciated.

I have never heard of "rust fungi" - I will be interested to see your replies.

From this http://www.aspergillus.org.uk/secure/veterinary/Fungdisanim16.htm, I take it that rust fungi can be toxic to horses in very concentrated doses. If you're concerned I would ring your vet and see what they say. If it is just patches, I really don't think it is a problem and it is certainly quite a common occurrence.
