Does anyone know where the cheapest place (west/east yorks) to buy rustic jump poles from?

Can you buy them direct from who ever makes them rather than buying them from a company that sells showjumps etc (so your cutting out the middle man) so you can paint them up yourself.

I feel a summer project coming on and can't wait to get my pots of paint out and go balistic with a paint brush :D

OH can do the joinery stuff and build some more jump wings as he wants something to do on summer evenings, if I supply him with the wood and a bottles of bud, he'll get cracked on. :)

What type of paint is best to use? (obviously suitable for wood I know that much) but any brands you can recomend?

Any info would be great.

Hi there,
I buy all my jump poles from the timber merchant / saw mill near work they are over half the price of any advertised as jump poles. and you can get them cut to any lenght. i get 12ft for the field jumps, 10ft or 8 ft for the school and 4ft for stiles.
As for paint i put a note up at work on the notice board and asked for any leftover external paint anybody had and now i have enough to do all my jumps. My boss even fetched me in 1/2 a large tub of green timbercare!!! bonus
Good luck and dont forget to post pics.
