Sacroid on back...

... Saddle is quite a large saddle, friend reckons it's about an 18.5 seat. Horse has sacroid on his back (right on top) which saddle touches. It's a small sacroid.

Would you get vet out to see if horse can be ridden again or possibly saddle fitter to try and see if we could get a smaller seat saddle (that wouldn't go as far back that it wouldn't touch the sacroid!) :s

If it's a really small sarcoid it may not bother the horse, although you'd have to keep a close eye on it and make sure you use a good quilted type of saddle cloth, is it just resting on it or actually where the alot of the weight bares?

18.5'' saddle is a pretty big saddle if the horse and rider doesn't really need that size, how big is the horse? so if you can get away with a 17.5'' so it free's up the area then that of course would be better, but if in doubt it's safer to have it looked into by your vet I guess, suppose it depends on the type of sarcoid too.
