Has anyone else had this?

My horse has been diagnosed with sacroiliac probs but has displayed symptons of kissing spines. The bone scans have showed no evidence of kissing spines at all. Vet doesnt know why the symptons have been so linked to kissing spine and not sacroiliac disease. I wondered whether it is referred pain.
Anyone else had a similar situation? Any suggestions?

Thanks in anticipation!!!

My horse had sacroiliac problems - used to collapse behind when ridden and took a year of xrays, nerve blocks etc to diagnose. He was not given a good prognosis by the vets, However he went to Chris Caden Parker as a last hope. He was there for 10 days and we never looked back. That was 8 years ago and he is out hunting, winning RC team SJ and everything with his new owner

I am not sure what the 'symptoms' are for Kissing spine, but my horse had Sacroiliac disease. It started with him looking lame (on and off) in front for about 6 months, then came the most awful bucking in canter, inability to jump properly and general stiffness. Bone spavins were diagnosed and treated and this appeared to solve the 'problems' for about a month. When the bucking continued it was decided to treat the spavins again with Tildren, however he had a terrible allergic reation therefore the treatment was discontinued and he was sent for a bone scan. This confirmed that the bone spavins were healed but his sacroiliac was a mess.
We decided to try and treat with a scelorising (sp) agent in the hope that it could 'plug' the holes and he was put on an extensive exercise program. Unfortunately, the bucking continued to the point of dangerous and my vet advised to turn away in the hope that rest may help. I am sorry to say it didn't and he just got worse to the point he was still lame on 4 sachets of bute a day. I ended up having to put him down 11 months ago.
I don't know if any of these symptoms are what your horse is experiencing, but I wish you the best of luck and hope you are more successful that I was.
