Hi, sorry for the long post but need some help/ideas of any similar problems anyone may have had!
2nd Jan this year, in walk my boy turned right but back end slipped to the left as he was in a rush to catch up with the others on our slow hack, he didnt go down but continued to slip in the muddy bits on the way home, got home fine no lameness.
Next day he had a lesson and my friend rode him, he seemed to be in a rush so instructor said just let him have a canter get it out of his system, he put in few bucks didnt think too much of it, he worked but ears were back, then asked for canter and he then had ears pinned back and continous bucking (not like him to do this) anyway we stopped the lesson checked saddle etc, lunged and then instructor got on, as soon as she put her leg on to ask for walk he started the bucking with ears flat back, she got off and we all agreed he was in pain and this was not him being "Naughty"
my friend looked at him and said it was his near hind he wasnt right on, so chiro came and agreed, she done her stuff then said 3 days off then 3 days of walk and trot hacks before he can go in the school! well i got on 5 days later and could feel he was uneven behind and was reluctant to do anything.
Phoned vet, since vets initital lameness workup he said walk and trot in straight line wold pass a vetting although a little short, but small figure of 8 he was very lame :(
vet treated for 2 weeks with danelon, first week 2 a day then 1 a day for the 2nd week, then try and get on see what he does, i tried to get on in the school he put his ears back and lofted his leg and was generally very grumpy, as i walked him in he still had his ears pinned back, i got to my stable and thought id better get on as if it was him being naughty hes got away with me not getting on, i got on on the yard and could feel his back go up as if to buck so i got off.!
vet came out felt his back and he kicked out so vet said lets get on and inject sacroiliac, did this then gave him a week or more till we tried to get on, my instructor came, i tacked up walked in hand then she lunged and tried to get on, on the lunge he kept cantering and bucking but toward her, she stood on mounting block and as soon as she put her foot in the stirrup he went mad continuously bucking ears flat back, all agreed not safe and still in pain.
back to vets scoped and xrays all clear!
have had thermal imaging found hot spots over sacroiliac, hocks and left fore,
vet out nerve blocked the right hock, stifle, lower suspensory, still lame, higher suspensorys then he was better on right turns but then went lame on the left turns which is how he was originally, so nerve blocked left higher suspensory not much change!!
he is now booked in for 2 weeks time for a bone scan, meanwhile im going through all the what ifs and maybe this and that and its driving me mad!
hes also been seen by mc timoney and physio.
i hope someone can help shed some light on my boys problem, ive had him since he was 2 and hes 7 this may the poor boy had sycamore poisoning in nov 2013 and pulled through so he is a fighter but i cant bare to see him in pain and miserable.

Can't really help but didn't want you to feel alone! Mine had bone scan 4.5 weeks ago, result was a diagnosis of sacroiliac injury which we have injected, possible arthritic changes in hocks and a muscle disease! But he wasn't anything like your boy so can't compare. All I can say is Internet research isn't always your friend, it can make you crazy...and people usually only ever write the bad stuff! Good luck with him.
