Well we didn't get our miracle. His kidneys actually deteriorated overnight despite being on dialysis. He is in good spirits and the vet bought him sausages for breakfast but we can do no more for him. I am going up to him shortly (he is in vet hospital and hour from here) and he will be put to sleep. He really tried to fight but it just wasn't meant to be

So so very sorry to read this, not the news we were all hoping for. Hugs to you, stay strong, it's hard - I know.

My heart sank on reading the title of your post. I so feel for you, I had a similar situation with my Saffie back in September, thought she had turned a corner after surgery for pyo then she deteriorated and I had to make the decision to let her go. Give him a hug and remember you are making this brave decision because you love him and don't want him to suffer. Thinking of you. xx

Oh god, I saw the title of this and my heart sunk :( I'm so sorry. At least he's remained chirpy and the sausages sound like a fabulous breakfast for him. Well done for trying so hard for him and doing the best by him. Big hugs hun.
RIP Boots. xxx

Really sorry to see this, I was praying for a Xmas miracle for you. Sadly we have been in the same position between Xmas and NY and know only too well how awful it is to have to make this decision. Take comfort from knowing you have done the very best you can. Rosie also enjoyed a last dinner of sausages followed by a bowl of custard, she was one happy little spangle and it is a lovely way to remember her, tucking into all the things she loved but are not good for overweight doggies!! take care x
