Spent today travelling out to the pet crem as we had to have OH lurcher PTS this morning after some initial weight loss and a little senile behaviour, she took a bad turn last night...was restless.....I tucked her up in bed with me and stayed up most of the night watching over her

She started to fit in the early hours.....so had her PTS at home this morning....funny thing is I onlytook a picci a few days ago...which I loaded on here last night(strange)

She had a fantastic 15 years doing what she loved best....chasing rabbits

We had Malic PTS two weeks ago and were devestated so we know how you feel. Whereabouts do you live, its just we are waiting for Malics ashes and they will be buried in the cemetry along with my horse Simon that died last year.

We lost our Boxer last year when he started having fits.

Just remember that your girl had a long happy life - you can't give a friend more than that.

We live in Durham....I always drive out to the pet crem and lay them in the chapel....to say last good bye...then we normally get ashes back the next day at mams vets.
I knew it wouldnt be long....but u always hope its just...that little bit longer...but when they start to suffer....there is no choice or second thought

So sad for you. She looks such a sweet old girl....much kinder of you to give her her dignity and allow her a peaceful passing. Not that it helps you, but at least you know that she's resting now and free from pain or confusion, bless her x
 
So sorry for your loss, she was so lucky to have you looking after her and thank you so much for finding time to respond to my post despite this.
 
Thanx for the well wishes everyone.....one good thing is im so busy my mind is otherwise occupied so little time to dwell exept the quiet night hours.....Its something we all must face with our dogs...its the worst part of owning them.....but great loving them

OH was distraught...something Im not used to seeing....but I think it was the fitting...he never sees this...where as it all to familiar to me...so had to keep him calm as well as the dog.......but she passed peacefully
