did anyone watch this this week????very sad ending for the american bull dog, this is the second time i have seen this breed on the tv for bad behaviour, both owners had not researched the breed properly, the owner of this one did not have a clue quote "he pulls so much on the lead his eyes go bloodshot" the silly mare was using the check chain wrong, well in the end the poor soul had to be pts as he was too unpredictable because the owner was not experienced enough to train him in the first place, such a shame but happens all the time its so gut renching, some of them are lucky enough to be given a second chance and some guidence.

I did see it but, the way the dog was that was the only really safe thing to do, and probably the best thing for it in the long run, although if he'd been handled by an expert from the beginning he wouldn't have got like that. But with two children you can see her reasoning.

oh i do agree she made the rite decision but getting a dog with a rep for being stubborn and aggressive you would not get with kids around espec if not experienced its all a status thing and the dog suffers because of stupid human error. it made me mad last nite there is a group of lads with a few staffies who run riot in my area and the where pulling very high up branches down getting the dogs to latch on and then letting go of the branch so the dogs are swinging in the air and then start to scrap why do people do it??????

Such a shame. American Bulldogs are such gentle giants if brought up correctly. Stella has an AB pal, who's also called Stella, who is such a dignified, sweet girl.

It was very sad, but best thing to do unless she could have got someone who was very experienced in the breed to take him on. Even the trainer was v.upset. I don't know much about the breed but I imagine they'd be hard to get over here and need v.firm handling and someone who knows what they're doing.

Yes,very sad but TBH was the only right and safe thing to do.

More saddening is that people go out and buy big strong dogs every day with no idear what they are letting themselves in for.Not the dogs fault it isnt well behaved when it has never been taught how to be good

It isnt always a status thing or a penis enlargement, my Aunt has Great Danes because she just loves the breed, mind you, she has always had giant breeds and has always had very experianced friends a phonecall away.Makes the world of difference.

I missed it but watched the other week with the shar pei, i cried when i heard it had the shar pei disease, poor woman was devasted, apparently it shortens life expectancy.

We have always kept german shepherds, usually from people that got the dogs and wanted them as guard dogs. Tyson was vicious when we got him but hes the biggest sweetheart now.

An old friend rents a house with others from uni, the guy got a german shepherd pup, taught him to bark and growl at people as he thought it was funny. Dog has since been pts as he became to powerful for him to handle and he attacked a friend of his!
