I don't post on here very often, but I've noticed how many sad posts from people who have had to say goodbye to their horses and ponies there have been lately.
I read these touching tributes and I just well up. They are so beautiful.
I have a 28 yr old whom, I know, I will have to take that same decision eventually, and I hope I can be as brave and selfless as you all. I had to do it many years ago, and I know how it hurts.
So, to everyone who has just lost, recently lost, in fact every one who has had their precious ones PTS, I send my love and thoughts.
Your beloved ones are running free from pain and stress thanks to your courage xx

It broke my heart when I lost my mare it's like losing a family member cause that's what they are, or are to me anyway. You just seem to know when the time has come and everybody deals with it in different ways but you know it's the last act off kindness for your beloved horses even though it's the hardest thing you will ever do

I agree Monsters, it IS like losing a family member. This time last year my friend lost her mare. She was due to be PTS on the wednesday, but typical Sal, she took matters into her own hooves, and she passed away peacefully in the night. We found her in the morning just as if she was asleep. And though it was heartbreaking, it took away that awful feeling you have. She was my old lad's love and he missed her terribly, but thankfully came through. If only they all could go peacefully like that. But like you say, its the one last act of love we can give them .

That is so sweet of you and i agree with everything you say! My love and thoughts also go out to everyone! xx

I have to say, hand on heart, when I lost Monty in February, I don't know what I would have done without HHO.

It's great to have somewhere with so many people who understand what you are going through x

I lost my beautiful mare on Sunday, it is the hardest thing i have ever done. I have not known grief like this and i have never cried so many tears. Walking past her empty box is heartbreaking. RIP my gorgeous, gorgeous girl. Run free where ever you are. x
