Due to financial reasons my loan mare is coming home and unfortunately as our business is related to the housing market there is just no way i can pay for her livery. Which means that she needs to be sold. Can anyone knowledgeable help me with her ad, i would tend to write paragraphs for her else!! This is what i have so far. i am being super honest but dont want to scare people!

16hh 9yr old bay mare by ad. event stallion The Lawbreaker and Landgraf. £180 BSJA.Fast, brave and big jump.(took me round clear after 15 years off from riding)Great paces (she has a super trot and would be lovely to do some dressage on with a bit more work).Won first time out this year.Loving and easy to do. No novices please. Suit competition home.

My loaner says to include that she was professionally produced by a top breeder which she was. Her downside is that she can spook on a hack.. Does not do anything naughty but just jump sideways. Shes good as gold to handle. Shes very forward going but not naughty.

So what should i write and how much should i charge? sorry to be useless but i have no idea on these things!
I need to price her to go in the next 4 weeks and not hang around.

Some pics..

I'd put something like this.

"16hh 9yr old bay mare by ad. event stallion The Lawbreaker. £180 BSJA winnings. Forward-going, brave, scopey jump and beautiful paces. Affectionate and easy to do however spooks occasionally on hacks. No novices please. Suit competition home."

I wouldn't mention being produced by professional unless this happened within the past couple of years, otherwise it is fairly irrelevant by now.

I wouldn't use any of the photos you've posted as they don't show her off particularly well.

just wondering where you were based and what sort of price you were looking for? Can you send me any more details eg vices, loading, injection, vets issues , competition history?

Many thanks

Lynsey

I like Tia's wording. I do quite like the photos, except that I would get a good conformation shot of her stood up nicely with no saddle on as well. She sounds and looks like a really nice mare.

lynz25 - have pmd you - forgot to say we are in herts/south beds- not after a huge amount as need her to be sold in the next 4 weeks - such a shame as would love her to compete myself once have more time and riding is up to scratch.

Glad you like the pics - will try and get some flatwork shots as she does work in an outline. thanks everyone

I would advertise something along the following lines:

FUN PC/RC allrounder.
16hh 9yr old bay mare by ad. event stallion The Lawbreaker. £180 BSJA. 3 good paces and would do a nice dressage test. Good to shoe/box/clip/hack. Sound and viceless. Passport and vaccinated. This forward going but safe mare would suit competative home for lots of fun.

You can elaborate on things over the phone.

Pricewise maybe £4500 and look to take £4000

None of the pictures are perfect but they do show her type. I'd probably go with the bottom one unless you can get something better.

I wouldn't bother mentioning that she spooks if it isn't a big deal. Someone expecting to ride a forwards competition horse would not be worried by the ocasional spook. In fact, for a showjumper, sometimes its good if they do spook, at least it shows they have something about them - which again, competitive people will like

Good luck i hope you find her a nice home..

I also wouldnt mention that she spooks most of them do every now and again! As said above just say confident rider needed!

Good luck

If those pics are the options, I quite like the shot without the fence, I'd include the 2nd jump photo unless you have others, reason being the jump is sooo small in the 1st pic, it seems strange to be selling her as BSJA/competition horse
