after a positive couple of days and a chat with equine reproduction specialist (who was going to come out this week) willow was fine at luchtime wandering around the stable ok.
went to give her her evening feed to find her down. flat out, utterly exhausted. no signs of a struggle but she just didnt have the energy to get up she tried but couldnt.
vet came and suggested trying to abort the foal to ease the pressure and hopefully get her to her feet but the drugs didnt work. he asked if i wanted to wait a couple of hours to see if labour kicked in but i said no. couldnt put her through it
she wasnt in pain just exhausted, she had given up.
baby was kicking away which made it even harder but she was peacefully put to sleep at 7.30 last night
i will miss her so much. there will never be another like her.
sleep tight big lady xxx
thanks to everyone for the advice and kind words xxx
