saddle advice needed

I need a saddle for my boy, I'm thinking of getting a "made to measure" as they seem very reasonable priced, I've tried looking at synthetic ones but as I'm an old bag I can't get my head round it ! I am sure they are perfectly ok but just not for me, has anyone got any recomendations in the north Essex area ? At the moment I'm look at Minster Saddlery so any advice/thoughts would be gratefully received, thank you

I have just bought our new mare a saddle.Shes only 6 and keeps changing shape so I looked at the wintec as temporary measure .In the end I settled for the bates leather with cair .I have never sat on such a comfortable saddle,my horse has barnsby and I thought his was nice not a patch on this for comfort.I knew she had a problem with her stubben saddle as she started to bite and was getting really grumpy she was also bucking in canter and running away on mounting.We have only had her 9 weeks so in the process of getting everything up to date . I let someone else ride her today and they now want the same saddle.You can feel the diffference from the airpockets so it must be much more comfortable for the horse as well. It was pro fitted friday and the bucking running away and bitting has stopped .If you get a chance to try one before you make your mind up I would recommend them.
 
Have you spoken to Roger @ Ingatestone saddlery?

He is a very good saddle fitter and Ingatestone sell a large variety. It is worth going over to have a look at stuff and a chat with him. He may be able to help you. And from my experience he won't rip you off or sell you something you don't really need either...
 
If your looking for a nice leather saddle, but one that can be adjusted should you horse change shape, then I would recommend a kieffer Garmisch. They are brilliant as they have good knee and thigh rolls for jumping, but also give a lovely straight leg for schooling and they can also be adjusted should your horse change shape.
Both my horses have this saddle and I am extremely happy with them, they are very comfortable and reasonably priced.
