Hi all
I need to get a new saddle, not sure I can stretch to new so may need to be good second hand but really need some advice please as theres so much to choose from! I am getting a saddler out for fitting but wanted to have a bit of heads up on suitability first. I want quite a deep seated, leather saddle but my boy is very wide and flat backed - currently using an old GFS but have loads of slippage probs (not sure if him/me/saddle - think bit of all 3). I have had his back done and put right - few tension issues, so desperately need to get saddle sorted, I do have regular lessons so am working on the straightness issues. Sorry for the book but an suggestions for comfy saddle for flat backed, wiggly horse?? Thanks :)

I have saddle company saddles on both my mare and my daughters mare! They are both cob x! I bought my working hunter and jumping saddle off eBay and they were both under £200 and cost me £40 to be fitted'!
I splashed out and bought a new cob saddle for my daughter's pony for £600!

I'm a fitter for Native Pony and obviously we do fit that shape all the time :). I will say that deep seat and flat backed are not really compatible - you need a certain amount of flatness in the tree, and that means a not-so-deep seat, though we do moderately deep seats for all but the VERY flattest backs. If you can send me photos I could advise what NP model to look out for online - ebay and Preloved, as well as Horsegossip occasionally, seem to tbe the best places. Obviously I can't guarantee fit in the way that I could if fitting from new and bringing out a whole selection to try.

Many thanks for your advice. Sbloom - thanks for offer will send a pic through prob b 2moz now but thank you! :D
