Will my saddle make a difference to how well I can sit to canter, I seem to be struggling to sit to canter at present but are using an event type saddle. In past years iv never had a problem but always had a gp saddle. Does it make a difference?

I find some saddles alter the position of your lower leg, therefore effecting how you sit to the canter. I also find that if the saddle isn't the right fit for the horse it will feel odd. If the saddle is a good fit maybe try some work without stirrups to help your seat and things adjust to the new saddle?

Yup it does affect you. I can sit perfectly in race saddles, worker saddles, gp saddles, shetland pads, bareback et al but my tb's straight cut, next to nothing show saddle? Eh naw! Nay chance lol! Im getting him a new saddle!
