Saddle arrived this morning yay, but no!!!

Well at the title says, the saddle i won on ebay arrived this morning, so I was so happy, I skipped to the field, got chubby in and guess what? yup it does not fit her, well my opinion is that it doesn't anyway, I have the saddler coming tomorrow to double check.
It's a lovely one too, I have a synthetic one at the moment and have saved up a year for a leather one, ok it's only second hand, but that's all I can afford at the moment.
So if saddler agrees with me it'll have to be sold, so here we go saddle hunting again!

It is such a nightmare isn't it? I managed to get a saddler with a Humphries & Swain serge lined saddle for one of my two. Fits beautifully. But before that had gone through four saddles as he kept outgrowing them... Fingers crossed this is his final one!

Good luck in finding the right one next time.
 
Hi Lvrees, I wish it were that easy, saddler has been on the lookout for two months already, the problem is that my girlie is soooooooo wide she needs an extra extra wide one and there's hardly any around, I think they must be like golddust!

I have been looking for a 14" extra extra wide, but can't even find a second hand synthetic within my price bracket. It's depressing.....
 
My chap was measured as xxx-wide in a Saddle Company saddle and it was made to measure as their "off the peg" ones only go up to x wide I think. They can make them up to something like xxxxx wide!!

Very pleased with it. I got the Verona which is leather on top and serge underneath - lovely and light and looks like all leather when on. £525 including saddle fitter's time in measuring up and coming back and fitting. The tree is adjustable too if pony changes shape (by saddle fitter or sending back to Saddle Company). They do the Genoa in full leather which is something like £700 I think.
