Can you get such a thing because I can't find one?!

I have bought a new saddle and the cover it came with isn't big enough to fit over it! I really want a saddle bag carrier thing for it but ALL the ones I have tried have been useless!

I have a RiffRaff bag- looks big but it took me 5 mins to wrestle my 17.5 inch saddle into the small opening along the top so no good. I have bought a shires one on ebay which has a zip round most of it but it NO WHERE NEAR fits my saddle in it!

Any suggestions? Please!

Seen some nice ones that zip around the whole way (ideal!) and padded- on an American site, but they are 99 dollars whice seems pricey for a bag?!

I have the Royston range by William Funnel one and its good but not sure an 18 inch ould fit in it. Friend has one which fits her 18 inch in, will ask her what make it is. Also have seen a grey horseware one that fits an albion with a high cantle.

Sorry - probably haven't been much use!

But it is such a pain to get a saddle into- if it had zips all the way round it would be perfect!

Hmmm... wonder if I could get someone to unpick it and sew zips?

However, I don't leave my saddle cloth on the saddle - only the saddle fits in the bag & not a numnah too (if you know what I mean!)

I got one from the USA for my dr saddle as I couldn't find any carriers for dr saddles in the UK at the time. It was from delta-s equine design www.delta-s.net. The lady makes them herself to order, so you could get whatever size you wanted. It was expensive, but absolutely top quality, really sturdy zips all the way round, material really thick, lined with thick faux sheepskin. Bought one for my instructor for a wedding present! If you want photos, let me know.

I have a Royston (William Funnell) one which is very padded with a tough outer and a zip which goes all the way round the front and a carrying strap. I got it to protect my saddle from the cats which used to live in the tack room where I used to be stabled as they would jump on the saddles and claw them. I fitted my albion 17" in no problem, not sure about an 18" saddle though. I am selling it for the grand sum of £10 if you are interested. x
