Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has had any similar problems with Thorowgood saddles. My horse has been behaving quite badly for the past week and i couldnt work out why - having checked my 1 year old saddle i found a staple sticking through the underneath straight into my horses spine!!! I am absolutely appalled by this - my poor poor horse. I'm so glad i spotted it. Has anyone heard of this before??
Thanks folks

I have two thorowgood saddles, both of mine are fab and fit really well. Well, one is to wide now, but did fit really well. I am going to go and check them when I get to yard! Thanks

I'm going to call them at lunch time. I'll let you know what they say but I didnt realise the girth straps seem to be held on with staples and now ones come loose it's just sticking straight into my poor nag!!

omg that is terrible, I never knew staples where used on girth straps. you are lucky that your horse is not injured and that no accident occured !!

Practically every saddle made these days is stapled together, so that is not unusual. However, I fail to understand how a staple from the girth strap can have enough force behind it to go through the panel, and how on earth can it reach the spine?
Best thing I reckon is to ring Thorowgood.
