I've been looking at the Saddle Company saddles and there's a few different types and models and styles - but they also do a "cob" version.

Does anyone know how the "cob" version differs say from either the GP or the WH saddle.

I guess they are made to fit the cobs, but what actually is different - is the tree different? are the panels different? or both?

And would this type of saddle fit a pony with a flat back (almost like a cob's) but also has a wither, not flat across the wither?

It probably has straighter panels.

I use the dressage saddle and the WH saddle and they have been used on a highland (slight wither) and a welsh (again slight wither) and fit well

cobs tend to be fairly wide with low withers so it may be designed to fit them better. It may also be straighter cut for showing. the pony may need a wide pony saddle if it has more prominent withers but a wide back

I have the cob saddle for my welsh cobx. The tree is different, designed for flatter backed horses, though I don't know if the panels are any different. It also has 5 girth straps, one of which is at the tree point so it can anchor the saddle down.
My horse is just as you described, and it was recommended to me by a fitter. Having said that, its not a great fit on her but I think it probably just needs some fine tuning.

The tree is flatter and wider, and the panels are flatter. It only comes in one model, which is a GP with a square cantle. It has 5 girth straps - three "normal ones" and a point and balance strap.
