I have the CC jump saddle and use it for most of my riding (I use it more as a GP)

I love it! Comfy, easy to maintain and considering it's forward cut, G moves really well in it

The tree is adjustable but only by a specialist saddler on a template machine.

Great value too if you've a very wide horse like mine who needs M2M

I dont have one but im considering getting one for mine in the summer when horse has filled out a bit

My fave pony at the riding where i work on a sunday has one. Its leather on top and synthetic underneath. Its so comfy to ride in! we have someone on the yard who sells these for the company and she said it was £520 for this saddle (but was cheaper if the seat was 16.5" or less ) Its just normal GP saddle i think. i presume it would be a bit more fore the event or working hunter ones?
 
I have one and know loads of others who also have them. Very nice saddles around £600 on average. Not a lot of price difference between saddle types.

Saddle is adjustedon a press which can be brought to your horse so fitting and adjustment can be done on site.
 
On the website they claim horses love them and move great in them etc etc. But they are going to that, they would be daft not to!

I'm looking into getting a new saddle for new young horse and want one that he will be comfy in etc etc so how do they compare to say wintec and bates and all the flair and wow saddles. Like the idea of wow but they seem so heavy for a young horse (and also so pricey!)
 
I just bought one for my new little horse and its really comfortable to sit on and the horse seems very happy in it. All in all I am impressed (so far, but it is early days!)
 
Well I bought one for my youngster purely on the basis they had a few good reviews on here (I bought it off ebay under the illusion it could be easily changed to fit any horse)

It looks nice enough and I imagine it would be pretty comfy but I bought the jumping model and to be honest it looks like a unsupportive GP, certainly not very impressed with the cut of it.

I had my saddler out to check my other horses saddles and asked him to check this one at the same time. I won't repeat what he said but the general gist was that the saddle was completely out of balance, narrow through the gullet with poor weight distribution.

Now maybe the saddle just isn't compatible with this particular horse??

I would also have been dubious had this saddler then attempted to sell me another saddle, but he didn't even try - he put my albion jump on the youngster and said 'spot on'

I can only say as I find, but I will be following my independant saddlers advice.
 
I have the Verona Cob on my horse. It's a fab saddle! I dispensed with my Heather Moffett Seat Saver after I got this saddle as I didn't need it, even on longer distance rides. The saddle itself is so comfy. It's a really soft leather, more like shoe leather. Not at all hard, heavy and rigid as traditional saddles.

I used to have a Wintec VSD with Cair (still have it) and on my horse I felt perched on top of her. Couldn't feel her movement in it. Never felt connected with her. With the new saddle I feel as though I'm sitting into her. It doesn't move on her back at all and I can really feel her swing through from behind in it.

It's also very lightweight and low maintenance. Biggest plus for me was that it's adjustable and the tree is flexible on the horses back. With the Wintec/Bates, you only alter the head of the saddle at the pommel. The back of the saddle is still a medium fitting, regardless of what size gullet you put in it. This means the channel can taper to one end which can't be good for your horse. On Patches, it meant it would roll side to side behind as it wasn't wide enough to accommodate her at the back

Really impressed with mine.
 
I've had mine a month now, Verona Cob but had Working Hunter flaps put on and point and balance straps, it's half leather & half synthetic was £550 including two visits from the saddler. I've got it on my 4 yr old section D and he does seem happier in it, previously in a wintec wide

and it's so light compared to this
It is really comfy to ride in and the leather is soo soft
 
I have a working hunter verona and I love it , the saddle fitter comes out takes a template pops it on the machine and woo hoo you have a saddle that fits

Tate I wouldnt touch a Wintec if you gave me one for nothing and I suspect I'd feel the same about any of the saddles with the fish type plates or screws that you had to fiddle with. They all only seem to adjust at the very front and certainly the Wintecs seem to be a very odd shape at the back for many horses. I know pwople who have had problems with the adjusting screws working loose or even falling out!

IMO the SC saddles are far superior. The panels are far better, the stuffing is far better, the level of rider comfort and the weight of the actual saddle is better....

Ive had saddles made to measure before now that have cost an absolute fortune and made by what I consider the best saddler maker in the UK, I would STILL get a Saddle Company saddle over another made to measure now I have experienced them.
 
SC saddles are brilliant.

but so are Balance saddles......

it's a case of what your budget allows to differentiate between the two brands.
 
I think with all makes of saddles you are going to always get 'badly made' ones within the brand. Also almost every saddler will have different opinions about a saddle. I've seen it all the time.
One Albion jump saddle was for sale in my yard,, which had been rubbished by a certain saddler, who said that it was horrifically unbalanced and badly made/ put together. It got sold on to someone else in the yard who's own 'redeemed' saddler came to check the saddle out and declared it a great saddle, well balanced etc and a good fit on the horse- and that person has had that saddle for years now and it seems ok. ( I had to bite my tongue, did not know what to do, both parties were friends of mine!)
However,the saddler who rubbished the Albion saddle mentioned above said that my Albion was fine (this was years ago) and it was well put together and balanced etc.
So I think you get good/bad saddles within every brand, I think that you were just unlucky with your saddle co one...! I still swear by them!
 
With ours the sadler came out and measured the girls, sent the measurements and template to the company, two well fitting sadles came back that are realy comfy for us and for the horses. Both mares go well in them. The sadler has been back six months on and said to leave the fit until summer and she will check then, so no money to pay out this time. Admitedly the sadler is a friend who we have known for years, but that does not affect the quality of the sadles.
