Im looking for a new saddle for my Arab and having real difficulties!
does anyone know of a good affordable saddle?
Help.....!

iv been looking at the saddle company saddles are they any good on an arab? any experiences?
If anyone has a good quality saddle pm me.
 
It really depends on what shape your arab is!

As saddles go I rate them and have two of my own however you DO need to find a good Saddle Company fitter to fit them properly.

Not sure where you are but there will be a few of us on here who can recommend fitters for you if you decide to go ahead.
 
3 makes of saddles i have had in the past have been Jefferies, Ideal and current Frank bianes all lovely saddles.As for prices these vary between saddlers but I think the Ideal is the cheapest and very very soft to ride in
 
the saddles can be built to fit any shape so if you get a good fitter then you should be fine.

I had the event one made with drop panels to fit my TB's and it was a great fit on them as it was made to suit, I am having to sell it though as it doesnt really suit me.
 
Sorry im in the surrey area
im not looking to spend huge amount of money no more than £400
so im prob more looking at a second hand would you think?

your choice will be a bit more limited second-hand, have you looked on Ebay?
 
I have one on my anglo - he has TB withers and a flat short arab back. I fit them myself.

I have fitted a fair few on arabs and they do suit them as so many saddles tend to move forward because of the absence of shoulder.

For £400 you would be looking at a second hand one - either a half and half or a full leather - there are usually a dozen or so on ebay. Otherwise, have a look at the Arabian Saddle Company (not affiliated with the saddle company) these saddles are designed specifically for arabs. Second hand ones dont come up for sale very often though.

If you are looking for a synthetic, have a look at the Thorowgood - the cob version fits arabs really well.
 
Iv Had a look on ebay but there doesnt seem to be much going atm.. typical!

what sort of price range do you think am i looking at?
 
i would be looking for a GP in black 17.5'' im not to fussed whether its a square or round cantle if anyone has the above for sale and are in the surrey area please get in contact !!
