Saddle covers

Are saddle covers a standard size?

Both of my saddles were bought 2nd hand and neither came with a cover. My Mum says they look quite straight forward to make, and we have my OH's to look at. I was just wandering if I needed to change the pattern for my dressage saddle's shape, or if they are are "one-size-fits-all" type thing?

I've only been ever able to find standard ones. I got my old saddle 2nd hand and the standard size was way too small !! I'm sure they must do different size/shape ones though. My new saddle came with one though and is fab !
