having bought Gypsy a brand new saddle I want to keep it that way so use a sadde cover when I'm not using it. But the saddle cover I have, a fleece one, is too short in the flaps, its making the end curl up

I was going to buy a cotton one from DH does anyone know if it is bigger, or will stretch more than the fleece one? It doesn't look very big in the picture.

I had bought a saddle cover and it did exactly the same thing. So I bought a cheap fleece saddle cover from ebay, and it was cut very generously, with a drawstring and toggle to adjust the fit.

Perhaps have a look on ebay.
