As all o fyou probably know far too well by now, I have been having a saddle nightmare. I rang up last week to return the thing, only to be told saddler had gone on his hols. So I rang twice on Monday to try and return it, first time could I ring back later, second time he had been told and would ring me back.

So I waited until today, still no call. Rang up, secretary/phone person gets really arsy on the phone, said he didn't get off his hols till Tuesday aft (even though I rang on Monday morn and was told he was back in the shop?!) and was in a meeting today, and I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Feel like I'm really being messed around. Tell me I am being over-worried and pushy, as I don't like to think I have £800 down the drain.

Did you buy it from the saddler or from the shop? If it's the shop, you don't need the saddler there to take it back. They may well want to look at the issue (sorry, can't remember what it is!) to see if they can rectify.

The saddler came out to fit it. Last week (when he was on hols) I asked if I could just take it back to the shop, apparently he needs to be there if I wanted to return it?

Sounds like you are being messed around, and I hope you have better luck than me. I am now sueing the manufacturer of my saddle in the small claims court, which they are totally ignoring. Mine cost over £2000 and I have a report from another saddler saying it has a twisted tree and doesn't fit yet they still won't give me my money back!
