Basically my new saddle came this morning..GREAT :D

However, before i use it i am getting it checked, as you would..

But, my father made a very valid point..my mare is coming back into work from having a foal, so of course she will change shape dramatically

so surely i will need a new saddle almost every week?:p

How does a saddle ever really 'fit'

Dumb question or not ?

When i got my TB, she was 7, she had been in a field for 18 months. I bought a good quality second hand saddle and it needed to have the flocking altered every 3 months and then 6 months and then it was OK, as she became fit and built up muscle. The ideal thing, is to buy a saddle with an adjustable tree.

But yes, you are likely to need to have the flocking altered. You can also buy numnahs with memory foam inserts to get you through some levels of size change.
