Saddle fiiters- spring tree, broken spring

Cleaning my trusty bransby GP tonight and found a lump where there shouldn't be in the gullet. Feels like one of the springs has broken in the tree. No idea how it has happened.

Is this repairable? I love this saddle but it is older and I would consider upgrading to a jump but typically don't really have the budget rightnow #costoflivingcrisis

Get it to a saddler for assessment. Most things are repairable at a price, bear in mind all our fittings and raw materials have gone up considerably making repairs sometimes too expensive to be viable.

Thank you, I will do. I am expecting it likely won't be viable it's a fairly old saddle. Fingers crossed I might be pleasantly surprised

More often that not lumps there are normal, trees more usually break in the headplate, rivets etc. But yes, master saddler check required. New trees used to be £250-300 ish but would be more now I'm sure.

Definitely not normal the broken end of spring bar is pushing into the gullet one side where there is a break
